Overview
The Department of Hydraulic Engineering (DHE) was founded in 1952. It now comprises one state key laboratory (State Key Laboratory of Hydroscience and Engineering), and six institutes, i.e., the Institute of Hydraulic Structures Engineering, the Institute of Geotechnical Engineering, the Institute of Hydrology and Water Resources, the Institute of River Research, the Institute of Hydraulic Research, and the Institute of Project Management and Construction Engineering. DHE offers doctoral programs for applicants devoted to research and pursuit of a career in the fields of water science and engineering. The master programs aim at equipping students with solid theoretical and systematic professional knowledge and the ability to tackle issues in water science and engineering.

Department of Hydraulic Engineering accepts bachelor degree holders to pursue doctoral degrees. Bachelor degree holders for doctoral program application must meet all the uniform requirements of the university, as well as the requirements of this school/department listed below:
1. The Minimum Requirement of Undergraduate GPA or Average scores:3.5/4 or B+ or 85/100；
2. Applicants of this school/department can be exempt from the HSK certificates, however, non-native English Speakers must meet the minimum English proficiency requirement: TOEFL:80/IELTS:6.5.
