Overview
The School of Public Policy and Management (SPPM) of Tsinghua University was founded in 2000. As the first graduate school of public administration in China, the School’s mission is to become a world-class institution that actively engages in teaching, research, and consulting in global public affairs.
Highlights
——The school is committed to building a faculty with a global vision; all faculty members have overseas experiences of study and research.
——The school houses four long-standing research bodies: Government Management and Innovation, Social Organization and Governance, Politics and Public Policy and International Development and Global Governance.
——In 2003, the school was one of the first to obtain national Level-1 authorization and accreditation for the discipline of public administration.
——In 2013, the school was ranked number two in a national discipline appraisal, and number one in academic reputation and research. In the same year, the MPA program was accredited as the only university outside of the United States of America with NASPAA Accreditation.

Financial Aid by School/Department:
MID program is under the Cooperation on Higher Education Program between SPPM Tsinghua University & Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCT) Indonesia. Students enrolled in this program will be sponsored by MCT Indonesia.
MPP-SDG program is a highly interdisciplinary 2.5-year dual master’s program jointly launched by the School of Public Policy and Management, Tsinghua University and the Geneva School of Social Sciences of University of Geneva. For MPP-SDG program, a limited number of quota for Beijing Government Scholarship is available. The application process is competitive and selection is based on merit.
The IMPA and MIDG program are Chinese government sponsored programs which are specifically targeted at government officials from developing countries. Admitted students will be granted the Chinese Government Scholarship after approval by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce.
The International Master of Public Administration in the Belt and Road Initiative (IMPA-BRI) program is delivered by Tsinghua University, hosted by International Cooperation Center (ICC) of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and Tanoto Foundation. IMPA-BRI program is particularly designed to expand the scope of cooperation and exchange between BRI countries and to train promising talents for the BRI countries.
The IMPA-Future Leaders program will receive scholarship provided by China Foundation for Peace and Development. The scholarship covers the full tuition fee and miscellaneous cost (120,000 RMB/person), provides accommodation subsidy (3,000 RMB/person/month) and living allowance (3,000 RMB/person/month), and pays for the field trip and research fee and the medical insurance fee (800RMB/person/year) for the duration of the program.
