Overview
The Department of Energy and Power Engineering , originally known as the Power group in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, was established in 1952 under the name of the Department of Power Systems. The Department of Mechanical Engineering had been originally established in 1932. The graduate section of the department has always focused on improving our graduates’ quality with an emphasis on moral education. The Department of Energy and Power Engineering trains students in engineering design, experimental research and engineering management in the following areas: energy research and utilization, clean combustion techniques, optimization and simulation of power systems and devices, and power engineering and control. The department currently has 98 faculty and staff members, including 40 professors and 33 associate professors.

Department of Energy and Power Engineering accepts bachelor degree holders to pursue doctoral degrees. Bachelor degree holders for doctoral program application must meet all the uniform requirements of the university, as well as the requirements of this school/department listed below:
1. The Minimum Requirement of Undergraduate GPA or Average scores:3.3/4 or B or 80/100;
2. Chinese Proficiency Requirement: HSK band 4 with a score of 195 or above;
3. English Proficiency Requirement for Non-native English Speakers: TOEFL:85/IELTS:6.5.
